Verdict

Mahler Lad has been raised 8lb for his win in a conditionals’ handicap at Musselburgh, where he had the run of the race. He’d earlier finished tailed off when Hedgeinator beat KINGS ECLIPSE (NAP) a length over course and distance and Andrew Wilson’s stayer can go one better today with Brian Hughes keeping the partnership intact. Black Narcissus was rated 10lb higher when she won at Catterick around this time last year so she also comes into the reckoning after a better effort last time at Lingfield. Nelly La Rue made all for a first victory under Rules at Hexham last week but effectively has to race off a 13lb higher mark here.
