In depth

Verdict

Vicky Bee gets the call over Greenfort Brave, with Dead Mans Dante and Alpha Juliet others worth noting. Vicky Bee had shown promise in bumpers last year and was having only here third start over timber when beaten a short-head by Wally Wonder at Market Rasen last month. That was her first outing since January and she will surely strip fitter. In addition the extra distance here should bring out the best in her, so despite topping the handicap, she gets the vote. Greenfort Brave makes the journey over from Ireland and has been placed on a few occasions so has obvious claims of being involved, while Dead Mans Dante has shown promise over fences but ran out when put back over hurdles at Uttoxeter last time. Alpha Juliet needed the run when fourth at Cartmel and is another that may play a small part, but Vicky Bee has the most potential and can defy topweight.
