In depth

Verdict

Mr Mischief has to be the pick here, with Green n' Gold and Wally Wonder put forward as the main rivals. Pat Haslam's gelding was in great form during the summer, and following a bit of a break returned to the track to finish a close second to Miss Shakira at Perth. He should improve for that run and looks the best option here. Wally Wonder comes here in good heart following victories here and at Market Rasen. The extra distance is a slight concern but he will be difficult to keep out of the money. Green 'n' Gold is a versatile performer and returned to winning ways in some style at Cartmel last time. That was only in a seller but she gets in here on a nice weight and so must make her presence felt. Best of the rest could be Nocatee, but for the winner we must return to Mr Mischief.
