In depth

Verdict

Captain Mc started odds-on at Downpatrick but couldn't cope with Fancy Foundations though was staying on at the finish of that 2m5f. His stable companion FACE THE ODDS attempted to make all over 2m6f at Downpatrick but had no answer when Tullybeg quickened past though that looked a fair performance and the longer trip will suit. The winner's yard is represented by Desire De Joie, a very good third on heavy ground at Punchestown in February but not seen since a poor run at Navan the following month. One For Joe has disappointed in his two recent runs but his third place at Tramore on New Year's Day would put him in the frame.
