In depth

Verdict

It will be interesting to see how Flower Haven performs back on the flat having been running well over hurdles of late but he will need to run well to get the better of confirmed Fibresand performer THREE BOARS, who looks the one to beat with the main danger rated as Budva. Hugh Morrison's gelding is the least exposed of the field with the three-year-old having only raced four times so far, all here at Southwell, and there could be more to come from him stepped up further in trip. Mark Brisbourne's Laura Land has run better on turf of late and has slipped to a fair mark so has to be considered, while it is to be hoped that a return to this surface can bring about an improvement in form for Swords, who has been running below par on the Polytrack at Wolverhampton in recent runs. Mark Johnston's Tilos Gem has only won once from 18 starts and has slipped to a decent mark but is hard to back with confidence given his overall record and a better bet looks to be Three Boars, who can record another course success racing off just a 1lb higher mark than when narrowly beaten by City Stable over course and distance last month.
