    Verdict

    Another small field is set to contest this and there is not much between the quartet of intended runners on the best of their form. However, Aelred has shown enough of late to suggest that his turn is not too far away and he is preferred over Minster York on these terms. Reach The Clouds and Fare Dealing will also attract interest in afield of this size and cannot be confidently ruled out. But Richard Johnson is an eye-catching jockey booking for Aelred and the partnership are taken to build on a promising effort at Carlisle by the gelding last month. The trip and ground are in the selection's favour and a bold show is expected.
