Verdict
Artemise looks to be one of the lesser lights in Alan King's stable but, with the yard in such good form, he may be worth chancing and gets the vote over Keep Smiling and Hi Fi. The last mentioned ran his customary game race at Aintree last time but needs to improve to trouble the judge, while the Venetia Williams-trained Keep Smiling lost his way over fences and showed signs of a return to form back over hurdles on his return at Exeter. Colin Tinkler has made a winning return to the training ranks and it would come as no surprise to see Bonus Trix run a big race under Andrew Tinkler, while Eight is lightly raced over hurdles and is open to more improvement than most. Martin Pipe's Jardin Fleuri has shown little sign of encouragement so far so the best option looks to be Artemise. Alan King's mare made a highly satisfactory return at Southwell last month in an admittedly poor contest but does not appear to be too harshly treated for her debut in a handicap and gets the nod.
