In depth
Verdict
Bally's Bak can gain compensation after throwing away her last race and can beat Darialann and Book's Way. Sue Smith's mare took a heavy fall two out when fifteen lengths clear of her toiling rivals at Bangor last time. That was an uncharacteristic error and if her confidence is still intact she should prove difficult to beat here. Darialann comes here in good form having disposed of a field of selling platers last time and could go close despite top-weight of 11st 12. Book's Way never got in a blow at Hexham last time behind Pikestaff, but had earlier finished a gallant second to Snowy in a similar race to this at Kelso, a reproduction of that effort should see him figure in the finish. All in all it is a tricky contest but Bally's Bak is expected to repay his supporters and is given a tentative vote.
