In depth

Verdict

Bundaberg won with plenty in hand here over a mile last week and is taken to follow up over today's longer trip in a race where the main dangers look to be Surdoue and Regency Red. The last mentioned has been running consistently well of late but has been campaigned mainly in banded stakes races and this looks tougher so Mark Brisbourne's gelding may again have to settle for a minor role. Kevin Ryan has his string in good form at present so an absence of 599 days may not be of too much concern for Dilsaa. The Derek Haydn Jones-trained Keltic Rainbow has been running well in banded races of late and is another worthy of a mention, although she is strictly held by Surdoue on running here last time. Paul Howling's gelding looks to be the main threat to the selection, judged by his last time out win, but we are happy to stick with Bundaberg.
