Verdict

The bang-in-form Something Lucky had to be driven out to defeat Crosse Fire (4lb out of the handicap here) by a head when notching a third course and distance win on Tuesday but looks vulnerable to improvers under a 6lb penalty with JACK THE TRUTH fitting the bill. George Scott’s lightly-raced gelding - an emphatic winner on his only previous start over this course and distance - still looked firmly on the upgrade when beating a couple of subsequent winners at Chelmsford last time out and a 4lb rise may not be enough to anchor him. Fellow course and distance winner Arzaak shaped encouragingly on his return from a break at Lingfield last month when beaten 5 lengths behind Brother Tiger and may be able to reverse form on 6lb better terms back on a more suitable surface.
