Verdict
A maximum field for this competitive claimer where Gold Guest is just preferred to get the better of Jools, Locombe Hill and Social Contract. The step back in trip should not be a problem for the newcomer to the James Hetherton yard and the likely strong pace can make his stamina count in the closing stages. Jools is an obvious danger in what is a marked drop in class for him. But he would not be taking his chance at all in the grade if he could be relied upon to run up to his best. Therefore it might pay for each way backers to side with Locombe Hill, whose yard have a good record at this track and have started the campaign well. The seven-year-old should strip a lot fitter after a couple of recent outings and is interesting at this level rather than in handicaps. Social Contract and Lakota Brave appeal as best the rest.
