Verdict
Wares Home drops to banded company for the first time and can land this weak event from La Calera and Royal Windmill. Karl Burke's gelding was rated as high as 67 during the summer, but following numerous unplaced efforts is now reduced to this level of competition. However he beat some decent enough horses when a close third to Fort McHenry in August and a repeat of that effort should see him easily dispose of these. La Calera put up her best performance for some time when finishing a close up fourth behind Elsinora in a similar race to this at Yarmouth and should make her presence felt here. Meanwhile Royal Windmill comes into the argument on his summer form, which included a close third in a Redcar handicap. Chorus and Savrenake Brave are two that cannot be dismissed lightly, but Wares Home is better than this level and is a confident choice
