      Verdict

      JACK THE TRUTH made all for a convincing victory in a course and distance maiden last month then returned last week to land a 5f handicap for which he's penalised. He's only had four runs and, though stepping up a grade, should be capable of completing a hat-trick. Kommander Kirkup completed a double in Class 6 handicaps over track and trip before caught on the line in his hat-trick bid so will need to do better. Newstead Abbey won a claimer here but faded inside the last furlong when stepped into handicap company on Friday and Born To Finish looks much more of a threat if handling the surface. Jamie Osborne's charge won a Kempton handicap at this level in November and has continued to perform with credit in similar company.
