        Verdict

        The veteran Alpha Tauri is having his 109th start and is back on exactly the same mark as when last successful over the track and trip in May so victory number 12 is no forlorn hope. Showboating has had one run more and also won 11 times, though he finished runner-up in this last year from 3lb lower. Chevallier completed a Lingfield double early last year but has never run here nor has Georgian Bay, who was well beaten into second in a Chelmsford claimer last time behind a long odds-on winner. Intimate Art has won twice on Polytrack though in a lower grade but the vote, in an open handicap, goes to LONDON. Phil McEntee's charge has only run once here but won at Epsom in October and has since performed in better company including when a close second in a Chelmsford Class 2 handicap.
