Verdict
Maneki Neko can give weight and a beating to these rivals, the best of which may be Majestic Movement and Paparaazi. The Mark Tompkin's trained colt disappointed at Goodwood last time but had previously finished second in two decent maidens at Brighton and Musselburgh. With today's opposition on the weak side he does appear to have every chance of landing his first victory. Majestic Movement hails from a top yard and put up a decent display last time when third behind The Pen at Redcar. If he handles this all-weather surface today he could be a major threat to the selection. Paparaazi put up an improved performance when tried on the Polytrack at Wolverhampton, finishing an excellent third behind Bird Over. If as effective on this different surface he should be fighting for at least a place. Once again bets should be kept to minimum, but Maneki Neko looks the best of a poor bunch.
