Verdict

Insignia is given the vote to land it for the Alison Thorpe yard. A winner last time where he out battled the ultra frustrating Nanga Parbat, there was little fluke about the win where he showed the benefit of his two previous chase outings. He jumped very sketchy in his first two starts but attacked his fences at Newton Abbot. His style of running is suited to a sharp venue like Southwell. Zilcash has first time blinkers applied but has been struggling under his double penalty of late. This race is the best which he has contested since he commenced chasing and conceding weight all around is no easy task for him. Osprey View was sent off favourite in the race won by Insignia last time but was well held when falling two out. Provided that fall has not left its mark he should be capable of picking up a novice chase but this is only his third start over fences and that fright last time would not have done his confidence much good. Dasher Reilly has been a disappointment as he promised a lot when trained by Dermot Weld in Ireland. The trip last time looked as if it was as far as he would want to go but he will not get his own way on the pace today. Ballybough Jack has something to find on all known form but will be suited by the drop back in trip while Withington represents an in-form team but is another that needs to improve. Insignia caused a surprise last time but there was a lot to like about the way in which he won the race and he is the selection.
