Verdict
Whaleef lines up in form and can complete the hat-trick ahead of Meldrum Star and Indian Star. Paul Webber's five year-old has hit a rich vein of form, having landed back-to back successes at Bangor and Perth this season. He has definitely learnt a lot from two educational outings over timber last term and may be up to defying a penalty. It has to be remembered that he was good enough to make a winning debut for Godolphin at Goodwood two years ago, and that Flat experience will stand the son of Darshaan in good stead. Meldrum Star left the money in the bookies' satchels when demoted from second to third for hanging at Worcester last time and may fare better over this shorter trip. Ex-German Indian Star was lucky to open his account at Stratford when the leader Gizmo fell at the last, but has a modicum of ability and will be one to follow when he comes down the weights a bit. Domenico has it to do off topweight, and Whaleef is a confident choice.
