In depth

Verdict

Novice hurdle winners Guerlain De Vaux and Farmer's Gamble both disappointed on their handicap debuts with the former pulled-up behind VIVE LE ROI at Newbury. The latter finally took advantage of a tumble down the weights on that occasion and remains on a winning mark in this lower grade. Honor Grey scored at Ffos Las recently and is 7lb higher while both Turning Gold and Flint Hill won their penultimate starts over timber and Oscar Montel and Havana Hermano are not badly treated on earlier placed efforts.
