In depth

Verdict

CITY DERBY was beaten only a length at Musselburgh in a first-time combination of cheekpieces and tongue-tie. Fergal O’Brien’s charge gets the vote with today’s rider taking 7lb off his back. High Tech makes his handicap debut and has every chance but Stratton Oakmont was still well beaten when third at Newbury though drops down in class. Golan Cloud and Zulu Dawn have the earlier form to figure while Cossack Dancer debuts for a new yard having undergone wind surgery.
