Verdict
Another tough race to call here for punters as many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Carlton, Mount Royale, and Air Mail and the vote goes to Carlton. The gelding is a course and distance winner and a reproduction of his latest fourth behind Scarrotto should suffice here. Mount Royale rates the main danger on his win over course and distance a few runs ago but he has since disappointed so can not be backed with any confidence. Air Mail loves it round here but he has looked a shadow of his former self of late. Warden Warren is best in small fields so he could go well at a price. Eager Angle could also bounce back to form now he returns to his optimum trip but for the winner we return to Carlton.
