Verdict

Another wide open handicap rounds off the card and many can be given chances on their best form but the principals look to be Smart Scot, Hold The Line, Printsmith, and Simply The Guest and the tentative vote goes to Smart Scot. The gelding has been in the form of his life of late and although he was beaten by Printsmith last time he is better off at the weights with that rival here and is taken to gain his revenge. Hold The Line may be the main danger as he won with plenty in hand when defeating Caspian Dusk last time and although he is rising in the weights he will not be far away. Simply The Guest is another that could go well but he gave the impression the handicapper had caught up with him when fourth behind Nearly A Fool and for that reason he is opposed. Of the remainder Galloway Mac returns to his best trip so could go well at a price but for the winner we return to Smart Scott
