      Verdict

There will be plenty of pace on with Jamaican Flight virtually assured of gutting out the early running and, as that scenario will suit Madiba, he is given the nod as who has enough scope to enable him to give weight away to the majority in this company. Best Port and River Of Fire are others that are suited by a test of stamina and have to be considered as leading players in a race of this nature. Whereas it would be dangerous to be put off Marconi Gold as he improved steadily last season and arrives here race fit after starting off on the all weather earlier in the campaign. However, a line through Sun Hill leaves him with a little to find with the selection and is therefore passed over just for today. Which brings us back to Madiba, who has the ideal opportunity to bring to an end a frustrating run if all goes to plan for him today.
