Verdict

Magic Mamma's Too should take all the beating in this maiden. He has come close to breaking his duck in his last three races, so his trainer has put the blinkers on him for Tuesday's race. He did well around the course last time, and the step up in trip looks positive. Bridge Pal was only beaten three lengths last time out at Lingfield and should improve for that race if he can handle the sand at Southwell. Academy Brief offers good each-way value. He nearly broke his duck twice in Ireland on turf last summer, and was just beaten into third by a length at Southwell in January. Although he's been well-beaten in two races at Lingfield since, he should appreciate the return to Southwell and eight furlongs. Proprius looks the best of the remainder; he's had a long rest since being beaten at Southwell in November. His jockey's claim should help his cause and he can do better in this moderate company.
