Verdict
A typical Showcase sprint with plenty of possibles including Sundried Tomato who has proved a fine stable servant with four wins this year. However, Peter Hiatt's charge had nothing to spare when scoring at Wolverhampton on Monday and looks opposable under a 3lb penalty so the TEAMtalk vote goes to Maktavish who comes here in good form and is now 13lb better for a four-length beating behind Sundried Tomato at Doncaster earlier in the month so is taken to reverse the placings. Paddywack has been in excellent heart of late but returns to the all-weather on a high enough mark while Afaan has struggled during a light campaign and seems not the force of old. Greenwood and veteran Further Outlook are consistent types and both have place chances in an open heat.
