        Verdict

        A chance is taken with Knapton Hill, who is selected ahead of News Of The Day, Greek God and Featherlight. The last named ran respectably on his debut for his new yard in November of last year - finishing fourth in a nursery at Wolverhampton. This is not much tougher and the son of Fantastic Light has a solid chance of making the frame in this company. Being gelded brought about an improved display from Greek God when he was last seen out and he looks capable of paying his way before too long. This is his first start at Southwell, though, and he may be better for the experience. News Of The Day seized her chance in a moderate seller a fortnight ago and has to be respected now that she has discovered winning ways. She races off the same mark today but, as the opposition is stronger, she has a bit more to find. Therefore, it can pay to speculate with the consistent Knapton Hill, who shapes as if this trip will suit her ideally and she makes good sense as a betting proposition at the likely odds.
