      Verdict

Penneeck and Contas both displayed plenty of promise on their debuts and should fight out the finish here, with the first named just getting the decision, Jack White may do best of the others. Penneeck returned from a two year break when putting in a tremendous effort at Doncaster in a class B event won by Into The Shadows. He only went down by eleven lengths and so long as he doesn't "bounce" he should be capable of landing this prize. Contas is from a yard hitting form and he would have gone very close on his Perth debut if he hadn't made a mistake when starting his effort. If he has polished up his jumping he will be a big threat to the selection. Sue Smith trains Jack White who is having his first racecourse outing. He is well bred by Teenoso out of a Broadsword mare and should be monitored for any market move. Bishop's Bridge is the only other worth a mention, so it isn't too difficult a task for Penneeck who should take the honours
