Verdict

In a very open affair Schuh Shine, Ravenscar and Willie The Fish can be given chances and we will side with the last named. The Sue Smith yard continues in decent form and although no world beater, this eight-year-old is at the top of his game and should be capable of following up his recent victory. He seemed suited by the drop in trip in that Sedgefield event and came home three lengths clear of today's rival Ravenscar. The runner up does have a four pound pull in the weights so is entitled to get a lot closer, but the selection should again have his measure. Schuh Shine made a very promising chase debut at Warwick recently finishing second to Hazeljack. He will have learnt from that experience and looks set for more place money today. Borehill Joker and Walcot Lad have been in good form this season and are capable of taking a hand in the finish, however Willie The Fish has the best recent form and gets the vote.
