    Verdict

Bold Phoenix rates as a tentative selection ahead of Tacid and Margaret's Dream. Barney Curley's runners always seem to carry their own weight in expectation on the all-weather and that expectation was justified at the track last October. Bold Phoenix did not give a good account of himself when attempting to follow-up at Wolverhampton but there has been long enough for any ills to be ironed out and Jamie Spencer would not be riding unless he believed he had a chance. Tacid has been backed in the market on three occasions without success. He must clearly be showing something worthwhile at home so the market is watched to see if those same faces are back again. Margaret's Dream is exposed but she ran a lot better than her finishing position suggests and a good run was clearly anticipated on her lastest racecourse start. Wolverhampton specialist, Danger Bird is back after an absence. The Plainsman takes a massive drop in trip. Danger Phoenix is nominated to minimal levels although Margaret's Dream is very much watched in the market.
