Verdict
A 16-runner Class G selling Stakes is certainly not a race to lose sleep over, and it is more in hope than optimism that Delcienne is selected ahead of the likes of Could She Be Magic and Maggies Choice. Delcienne looked all over the winner when shooting clear at Lingfield two days ago, but tired inside the final furlong and was caught close home. The drop back in trip will help if she adapts to the fibresand. Maggies Choice had shown nothing on turf when turning up at Wolverhampton in July, and caused a bit of a surprise by popping in at 12-1. Unfortunately she has shown nothing since, but definitely looks more comfortable on the artificial surface. Could She Be Magic was putting in all her best work at the finish on her only start here when third to Cartronageeraghlad, and on that form could play a major part. However, Delcienne was unlucky on Saturday and is taken to make amends.
