Verdict
Countrywide Flyer has enough experience to see off the potential challenges of Queenstown, Freddie Freccles and Wake Up Henry. Countrywide Flyer absolutely bolted up here in October, on what was to be his final start for Alan Berry, as he was snapped up by current connections at the subsequent auction. They must have been impressed by the winning margin of 16 lengths, but he was well in at the weights and was entitled to win as he did. Even so, he may have a lot more to offer over the winter and has proved that he can handle this surface. Queenstown was unlucky to be caught close home at Sandown in August, and came good in first-time blinkers at Brighton. He is likely to make the pace again and should be good for a place. Freddie Freccles made a very pleasing start here in October and should have come on for that debut win, while Wake Up Henry hails from a yard that do not run them on the all-weather unless they are capable of actually winning a race. So, an interesting contest can go to Countrywide Flyer on his first outing for David Barron.
