      Verdict

      Scottish River showed signs of a revival last time and has to be respected but may struggle to concede weight away all round and preference is for Tricky Venture, who gets the vote ahead of Faraway Echo. The last mentioned has to race from 5lbs out of the weights proper but has been running well over hurdles and cannot be discounted on his return to the all-weather. Simply The Guest and Vanbrugh now seem to be in the grip of the handicapper and of more interest may Stef Liddiard's Efrhina, who is now only 1lb higher than when successful here in January. The vote though goes to Tricky Venture, who showed improved form in sellers when last seen and has been given a break since the latest of those.
