    Verdict

Nicholas Nickelby gets the vote in the finale and he is taken to score at the main expense of Crusoe and Brown Dragon. The selection put up a decent effort when second behind Air Mail over 1m last time. That trip stretched his stamina to the limit and over this more suitable trip he looks the one to beat. Crusoe is in good form at present and after winning well two starts ago, he finished a fair third under a penalty over 7f here behind Donegal Shore last time. He is dropped back in trip here and as he has never won over 6f he is readily opposed. Brown Dragon is another in decent form and he would have chances on his course and distance second to Quincannon two runs ago. He looks to have solid place prospects in what looks a very modest affair. Bella Tutrice is another worth a look and if there was any market confidence in this filly then she would need to be added to the shortlist, but for the winner we return to Nicholas Nickelby.
