Verdict
He's The Guvnor can give weight and a beating to Rosetown, with Nick The Silver likely to prove troublesome off his low weight. Although Bob Buckler has not been in good form, he can look ahead to an upturn in fortunes now, with He's The Guvnor, who ended the Dorset trainer's barren spell at Towcester last week, selected to follow up. The six-year-old paid a handsome compliment to prolific winner Celtic Son when bolting up at the Northants circuit as he had signaled his intent by chasing home the Pipe horse at Exeter the time before. A seven-pound rise here still leaves him well in as he is set to go up a further six-pounds on Saturday, so this future chaser should pay to follow. Rosetown should give him most to do, but his form does not read as good, while Nick The Silver caused a surprise when scoring at Hereford, and his new trainer Martin Pipe is sure to place the four-year-old to good effect. The rest are very much up against it, and it should pay to stick with He's The Guvnor with conditions very much in his favour.
