Verdict
Captain Macarry will be well fancied while Ours looks to be in the grip of the assessor but the verdict goes the way of the aging KINGSHOLM while Silver Hotspur shouldn't be ignored. The selection is one of the most experienced in the race but showed that age was no barrier last time with a win over course and distance in a weaker contest. He's up five pounds for the success but is still leaves him well below his highest winning mark and one of the best treated here. Captain Macarry has won in better company than this but for his last time out victory in a weaker race has been raised a massive 10lbs. It will be a tough ask for him to make it back to back wins over a longer trip than he's faced before. Ours looked to struggle last time under a revised mark after a victory over a longer trip at Wolverhampton two starts ago. Still at that career high rating he may need a reprieve before scoring again. Silver Hotspur was a winner over course and distance off a mark seven pounds heavier during the summer but has since struggled under a lesser burden. A return to form for the four-year-old, who has been competitive in better company could have him close but to win it the vote is with Kingsholm.
