Verdict

Oscar Gogo may not be on a bad mark for this handicap debut but a safer bet looks to be WATERSPRAY now back over hurdles; Can Can Flyer joins Island Light on the shortlist. Rated 112 over fences, the selection has a mark of 98 for this return to hurdles. He has form on a variety of underfoot conditions and his jockey knows him well. Can Can Flyer has a 6lb penalty to contend with for his Newton Abbott win in June, and whilst that may not have been the best race ever he still warrants respect; stablemate Dalaram looks very much the second string. Goldan Jess needs to bounce back from an average recent run, whilst Pipers Legend has been holding his form well and the blinkers may eek out some more improvement. Island Light is interesting off such a light weight; he has been off the track for over a year and if all is well then he is entitled to go close. Waterspray comes here in good form though and receives our vote.
