Verdict

Wee Dinns, Treaty Flyer and Up At Midnight are on the short list and we side with Wee Dinns. A couple of modest leaps cost Wee Dinns dear last time out but Martin Pipe's charge showed enough to suggest that she could make it pay over hurdles and we will side with her here. This is not an easy race as Treaty Flyer is very much in form. She was fifth in the Listed fillies handicap at Newbury but she could find it a little more difficult at this distinctive track. Up At Midnight was a winner of a similar contest on heavy going at Plumpton. She has raced on firm ground during her flat days but has not won on anything faster than "good to soft" since switching to the winter game. Cream Cracker is making a debut for new connections. A winner on fast ground during last summer, the market should offer most clues as to how advanced she is in her work. Little Venus is bred to get further but should not be too far away in breaking her maiden. Lady Maranzi is in good heart but she is unproven on the surface and it looks prudent to oppose. Wee Dinns has plenty of scope for improvement and having proven her aptitude for the surface, she secures the nod.
