Verdict

With plenty of these runners in this Handicap Chase trying to overcome career high marks we'll turn to SOU'WESTER who is back to a winning rating with Lord Jay Jay and Gaelic Flight also of interest. The pick won off this mark when beating the re-opposing Lord Jay Jay last May and has struggled under over exuberance from the assessor following that run but since returning to more realistic burdens has been going well. Lord Jay Jay has certainly improved since that defeat and ran really well in the Red Rum chase during the Grand National meeting and although that represents really good form it didn't go unnoticed by the handicapper who now puts him off a career high mark. Gaelic Flight may be up seven pounds for a neck victory last time out but his form at this track shouldn't be ignored. Bambi De L'orme has won off three pounds higher in the past but recent efforts suggest his mark is starting to get on the lofty side but he has ben running well in better races. All in all this looks very tight with Sou'wester representing the percentage call.
