In depth

Verdict

A truly terrible seller where Pips Assertive Way is a suggestion to be too good for Dalida, Star Tenor and Mouseen. The selection was soundly thrashed on her last two starts but she does have some decent form at the track, her only win having been here, and she acts best on a sound surface. The yard is not in bad form either, and being by Nomadic Way this test of stamina should suit well enough, so he is the suggestion. Dalida won a claiming hurdle a couple of years ago and returned after almost two years off when finishing in a different parish behind the winner at Market Rasen last month. The drop into selling company and the benefit of that run might help but she is surely not a backable proposition today. Star Tenor has yet to convince her gets this far but he has at least got some form from a Hexham seller earlier in the month which suggests he can make the frame here, while Mouseen showed a glimmer of hope at Ludlow last time and the nature of these contests means that we can't totally rule him out. Pips Assertive Way is our choice here.
