In depth
Verdict
An open, rather messy handicap in which all have some sort of claim. However, all bar one are relatively exposed compared to MAKADAMIA, who also receives weight all round. The former Pipe inmate has only three runs each over hurdles and fences to her name and should have scope for progression. Disappointing to say the least last time, she'd previously landed a Wetherby novice handicap chase in some style and can hopefully reproduce that level here. Sporting Boy concedes weight all round but has time on his side at the age of seven and Noel Fehily is a good booking. He's yet to deliver the same level over fences as hurdles but that is reflected in his official rating. Kitchapoly may have more to offer over fences but the each-way shout and prime danger to the selection is the consistent Friendly Society. He seems sure to run his race and could be the one to benefit if this contest falls apart which could well happen.
