A small field here but it should pay to go with the form horse Il Capitano to land the prize on ground he will relish, with Thyne Will Tell likely to chase him home. The selection is the youngest in the field at six years of age, but looks to be better than his older rivals, certainly at these weights, judged on his two recent wins at two and a half and three miles. The drop back to an extended two miles and five furlongs will not be a problem here, and with everything in his favour he can complete a hat-trick. Most of the others are either out of form or have doubts about trip or ground, but the most likely challenge to the selection can come from top weight Thyne Will Tell. He enjoys sounds conditions and is a course and distance winner to boot. Dropped 7lb since a disappointing effort last time, he has been given a chance here and is the one for the forecast.
