In depth
Verdict
Rescindo should reward Pipe followers here, with Newmarket raider Nigara seen as the main danger. Rescindo has yet to get his head in front since going jumping, and indeed never managed to score on the Flat for Nick Littmoden either. This though is a truly woeful finale and surely the gelding can open his account now. However, bets are best kept to a minimum as he does not tend to find a lot when let down and it is only because he receives weight from Niagara that he is selected. The latter is an equally disappointing sort who went off as favourite last time at Uttoxeter where he failed to see out the trip when well held by The Mighty Sparrow. Tom Scudamore, who rode him that day, is now on board Rescindo, and should know what to do to beat his only serious rival.
