In depth

Verdict

This is Thoonavolla’s time of year and he’s not badly handicapped on his best form. Bally Lagan won twice here last year but Micquus will need to jump better than on his reappearance at Plumpton behind BENNACHIE, who can race off the same mark. Tim Vaughan’s nine-year-old looks the one to beat again, though Tactical Manoeuvre has shown enough to suggest he can find a small race over fences over the summer and he might enjoy this step up in trip. Redmond ran poorly at Leicester after winning at Fontwell and could find the going too quick.
