    Verdict

This maiden contest could be in the hands of the new comers with Paul Nicholls' SHAMARI fancied to take to national hunt better than rival Nearby while King Brex has a chance his bumper efforts. It's over a year since the champion trainer's latest French import was last seen but fitness is not usually an issue with his string. That last appearance was on the all-weather at Deauville where he won the last of his two victories on the level. The runner up from that race did win again and as long as he takes to jumps he should score. While Shamari was winning races at high profile tracks like Deauville the new one for Phillip Hobbs, Nearby, had to be content with a couple landed in the provinces, which is why the vote goes elsewhere. King Brex ran with some credit in his last two Irish Bumpers last year. Making his debut for Charlie Mann he can improve to challenge especially with the yard in such good form. Should also go fine on this ground. King Ozzy should have at least a fitness advantage having run three times this season to some credit while Erdeli put in a decent run last time behind a useful Alan King Runner. The market could tell us more about most of this so keep an eye on that but the vote belongs to Shamari.
