        Verdict

        The penultimate race on the Thirsk card is a sprint handicap and hopefully it can go the way of DISCANTI ahead of La Zamora and Igoyougo. Tim Easterby's yard are in good form and the selection made a very pleasing debut 15 days ago over course and distance. Discanti over came a lengthy break to run a very creditable fourth behind the improving Hawkeyethenoo. The Easterby horse won last year on his second run after a break and everything is in line for a big run today. La Zamora ran in the same race as the selection but looked in need of the run. He may finish closer today but it's slightly off putting he did not show as much as Discanti, however, David Barron's runner is lightly raced so improvement is on the cards. Igoyougo improved four fold last year and if continuing on the up he could be tough to beat even after a break so a market check on Silvestre De Sousa's mount is paramount. Lucky Dan is another to note but is probably better over six furlongs. The likelihood of a strong pace could see him pounce late though. Others to keep an eye on are Incomparable and Feeling Foxy but Discanti gets the vote.
