Verdict
Not a race that will take much winning and this looks a straightforward opportunity for Tamweel to open her account while Captain Clipper looks the one for the forecast ahead of Sambucan Daze. Alec Stewart's filly showed the benefit of her initial outing when chasing home the useful A Very Good Year at Salisbury and shaped as though a race of this nature is hers for the taking when a staying-on runner-up over seven furlongs at Chepstow last time. The step up to a mile will be in her favour and it will be disappointing if the well-bred daughter of Gulch cannot open her account. Captain Clipper has put up some respectable efforts in the context of this race but would be receiving weight from the selection in a handicap and is likely to find this an insufficient test of stamina. Sambucan Daze has shown only modest form to date but is a lightly raced type who may be open to a little further improvement so looks best of the remainder in a weak event.
