Verdict

A wide open field goes to post for this contest in which jockeyship could be all important and the main protagonists appear to be Valuable Gift, Compton Plume and Festive Affair and we will take a chance on Valuable Gift. The gelding from the Rae Guest yard was a good second behind Spindor on the AW last time out and if he can reproduce that effort back on turf he will be hard to beat. Compton Plume rates the main danger he goes well on the ground but he has a bad draw to overcome. Festive Affair was third behind Blakeset last time in similar grade and he also has place claims. Astrac ran as if coming to hand when third last time out and with a top jockey booked is another to consider. Tree Roofer is from a shrewd yard and is worth noting in the market but we are happy to stick with Valuable Gift.
