In depth
Verdict
Fiore di Bosco, just touched off at Newcastle last time, can go one better here at the main expense of Shank On Fourteen, with Miss Coronado perhaps the pick of the newcomers. David Barron's two-year-old recorded an extremely fast time when making a winning debut at Southwell, and arguably performed even better when going down by just a short head to Marcus Eile on turf last time, with the third horse eight lengths away. That was a smart performance, and the Charnwood Forest filly gets a confident vote to record her second victory here. Shank On Fourteen, a stablemate of Marcus Eile, showed promise on his debut at Musselburgh before recording an easy win at Ripon and looks the obvious danger. Although Mac Love's maiden win at Nottingham has been boosted by the third horse subsequently winning, he looks relatively exposed at this stage and would have to improve again here. Pick of the newcomers is likely to be Tim Easterby's Miss Coronado, although this relatively cheap daughter of Piccolo faces a stiff task on her debut.
