With the stalls in the centre, the draw may not be a significant factor in sprints today. RED PIKE (NAP) hasn’t won in more than three years but it’s a long time since he ran in this grade and he’s tumbled to a very lenient mark if anywhere near his best. Rantan, also drawn low and a previous course and distance winner, is closely matched with the selection on their run together at Ripon last month so goes on the short-list. Venturous has been knocking on the door in recent outings but Kenny The Captain is 5lb higher than when landing this last year, though has been running well this season without reward. Stablemate Afandem and Yes You also make some appeal but Top Boy and Manshood are proving hard to place.
