          Verdict

          Barkston Ash won this in 2014, the 10th victory of his career, but incredibly he hasn't won subsequently, despite being very consistent. GROWL has joined Richard Fahey and run two fine races for the yard in better class events. He's now on his lowest-ever mark and can add to his lone success in an Ascot maiden. His stablemate Beardwood is another with just one victory to his credit but he's mainly been racing on ground with some give and back on a firmer footing can make his presence felt. Alpha Delphini is lightly raced and progressing nicely judged on his reappearance victory on fast ground at Musselburgh and a 4lb rise isn't excessive. The old-stager Confessional has never been a prolific winner but made a promising comeback at Chester and was only narrowly beaten in a Class 2 handicap at Haydock in September.
