Verdict
Jamie Osborne's Laawaris is entitled to need his first outing in public and preference is for Whispered Promises, who gets the vote over Red Damson, who should strip fitter for his debut outing. Mark Johnston's two-year-olds normally improve with racing so Whispered Promises should step up on his debut fourth behind Venetain Pride at Hamilton. This represents a drop in class and, with the longer trip in his favour; the American-bred has plenty in his favour. Zarneeta belied odds of 100/1 when third behind another Johnston inmate at Leicester earlier in the month and has claims if able to reproduce that form but a bigger threat may come from Red Damson. Sir Mark Prescott's colt is a half-brother to Perfect Plum out of a half-sister to Marwell and should have learnt from her debut at Windsor when well beaten behind Privy Seal. Rigonza tackles a faster surface for the first time and may do better now that he races on it.
